Our priority is keeping people safe.
Normally, when you contact us, we will keep your information confidential. However, if we think that you or another person are unsafe, we will ask other organisations for help and we will share your information with them.
For example, if we thought you or someone else was in danger, we would contact emergency services (e.g. the police or ambulance service).
We take your confidentiality very seriously and will only share your information with another organisation if we are really worried about you or the safety of someone else.
Our service supports adults with a criminal record and some of those adults may be vulnerable. We also understand that a child may be in the family or network of the adults we support and that their safeguarding is important.
As a charity, our Trustees are responsible for making sure that we keep people safe. We expect all our staff and volunteers to follow our Policies and Procedures.
Staff and Trustees take part in Safeguarding and Trauma-Awareness Training.
NCS team members deliver services that support people to navgiate stigma and discrmination. Our team members have the right to do that safely, and without fear of aggression.
NCS has a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, including verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, harassment, or physical violence directed towards our team members. Such behaviour is unacceptable in any circumstance and will not be tolerated.
Anyone who engages in abusive or aggressive conduct towards NCS team members may be refused service or have access to NCS team members restricted. Where required, incidents will be reported to the police and legal action may be taken.
We ask all members of the public to treat our team members with courtesy and respect, for everyone’s benefit.
